Lorem Partners is simply a brand used by Curtis Bartlett and Ron Miller to undertake their joint investment activities, having been business partners since they first met on a deal more than 25 years ago.

We ultimately invest our own capital through our respective holding companies. Lorem Partners does not have outside investors, but we do maintain an informal network of co-investors that often participate alongside us.

We are based in Calgary and Toronto, Canada. We have focused on funding the growth of start-up and early-stage companies in both the conventional and renewable energy sectors, and have backed businesses operating in Canada and internationally.

We have had rewarding investment careers participating in the start-up, growth and successful exit of more than a dozen private and public companies. We take a long-term perspective, and have invested in companies with unique and compelling value creation opportunities. We mitigate risk by being active board members, and partnering with superior management teams that can navigate the inevitable volatility and uncertainty of early-stage growth.
