Hydrostor Inc.
In 2016, we became early meaningful shareholders and directors of Hydrostor Inc., a private utility-scale long duration energy storage company headquartered in Toronto. Hydrostor has developed a proprietary Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage solution to solve the fundamental problem of the energy transition – how to provide bulk power when the wind doesn’t blow, and the sun doesn’t shine. We have strongly supported Hydrostor with additional funding since our original investment. Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Canda Pension Plan Investment Board, and Canada Growth Fund have invested more than US$450 million in Hydrostor.
